Retrato de una cerilla is a documentary shot on two cameras with very different intentions: the BMPCC for interviews and reenactments, with carefully crafted, meaning-laden theatrical lighting; the Handycam for a closer, more direct register. The challenge was to create two distinct looks belonging to the same universe — one pushing the BMPCC's quality and aesthetics to the fullest while respecting the intentions of the light, and a more realistic one for the Handycam — so that both textures could coexist naturally within a single story.
